Trip to Adirondacks

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts (again). This past week my husband and I enjoyed our third trip to the Adirondacks together. We love traveling only 4 hours to the mountains; we call it our happy place and have agreed to make this a yearly tradition.

On this trip we stayed for 3 days at the Best Western right on Lake Placid. On our first day we bought an Olympic Passport allowing us to hit all the Olympic tour spots. We visited High Gorge falls, rode a gondola (for my first time) up Little Whiteface, then climbed up Whiteface Mountain. It’s surprising how much you can explore before 4 o’clock! We had dinner, then relaxed in the hotel hot tub. The second day was the Fourth of July and we started the day off with a ski lift and a bus tour of the Bobsled tracks. Back at our hotel we changed into our swimsuits and braved the 60 degree water in Lake Mirror, which was only a 2 minute walk from our hotel! The water was freezing, but so refreshing! Later we enjoyed souvenir shopping on main street in Lake Placid as well as their parade. At night we enjoyed fireworks right on the lake. Our last day we made a small detour to check out Lake George and we climbed up Prospect Mountain.

Even though it was a short trip, we loved every minute of it. I highly recommend everyone putting the Adirondacks on the bucket list, it’s an experience you’ll never forget. Enjoy some pictures my husband and I captured both on our phones and with a GoPro I borrowed from my dad!

Leave a comment with your favorite vacation spot, I’d love to discover new places!
